Materials Researcher (Hourly)

To navigate this complexity and deliver great results, teams with deep expertise in architecture, engineering, construction, technology, and business must work together from the beginning.
Join was founded to simplify the complex and provide the foundation for problem-solving and decision-making, so that construction teams can more easily build the worlds that we want to inhabit.
Join is looking for an hourly Materials Researcher to help us build an understanding of the materials and manufacturers landscape in the built environment so we can help our users navigate it.
You will work closely with our engineering and product development team to understand and augment and organize Join’s dataset so we can help our users do their best work making designs a reality.
Example tasks include but are not limited to:
- Finding similar products and manufacturers for a given product
- Finding relevant products and manufacturers for a given material
- Describing key considerations to account for when switching
- Sourcing example material and product information such as images, specifications, and suppliers.
- Finding appropriate contact points for manufacturers and distributors
This is an opportunity to work closely with a product development team in a dynamic and quickly evolving space to build the future of construction technology.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field
- 5+ years of experience in architectural profession, 2+ years of experience dedicated to specification writing
- Working knowledge of construction documentation and construction specifications
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong research skills with the ability to analyze and interpret technical data.
Compensation: $75-$100/ hour.
